Chioma Bedford-Fubara
Most Innovative Course Award (2nd Place)
Chioma Bedford-Fubara
Most Innovative Course Award (2nd Place)Chioma Bedford-Fubara was born in Rivers State, Nigeria. Her love for the teaching profession started a long time ago. When she was young she would gather her friends and twin sister after school to teach them mathematics - a subject most of them disliked.
Her affinity for computers led her to study and obtain a Bachelor’s degree in computer science from Rivers State University. Subsequently, she acquired an MSc in Business Information Systems from the University of East London in 2010. As an African with a strong educational and professional background in mathematics and science, she intends to impart the knowledge acquired from these subjects to students at Osiri University, in a way that students with African origins can relate and apply their education to real life.
Chioma is an avid researcher with publications in the Internet of Things (IoT). She knows that there is no single approach that works for everyone so she continues to educate herself on emerging technologies that will provide the most comprehensive program that works for each of her students’ individual needs. She has experience in database management systems, algebra, calculus and geometry.
Chioma is a licensed baker who is proficient in baking different types of cakes, pastries and small chops. She resides in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, with her husband and three children. She spends her spare time reading and watching comedy soap operas with her family.
