Answer: Osiri University is authorized to offer a range of academic programs, including 1 Associate’s Degree in Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship, 1 Bachelor of Science (with tracks in agribusiness, business intelligence, and entertainment business), 6 Master’s degrees (MA in Inclusive Education, MA in Entertainment Business, MBA in Sustainable Business Leadership, MSc in Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture, MSc in Smart Manufacturing), 1 Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration, and several certificate programs.
Question: Does completion of courses lead to a certificate or a degree?
Answer: Osiri University currently admits students to the MBA in Sustainable Business Leadership and MSc in Data in Information Systems. Each degree requires successful completion of nine courses, totaling 30 credit hours. Students have the option to earn a graduate certificate (3 courses) or a master’s degree (9 courses) at the time of graduation. Certificates and degrees cannot be issued concurrently, and students must choose either the certificate or degree. The administrative fee for both is the same, and students who earn a certificate may apply the three courses towards a master’s degree in the future.

It received approval and authorization to operate from Nebraska’s Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education (CCPE) in March 2023 and has initiated accreditation in the United States.

Answer: Osiri University is currently admitting in only two areas: MBA in Sustainable Business Leadership and MSc in Data in Information Systems. Each degree requires students to successfully complete nine courses, totaling 30 credit hours. Each course is three credits except the ninth course, Practicum or Collaborative Research, which is six credits. All master’s degree students must take a 1) Human Potential, Philosophy, and Ethics, 2) Sustainable Leadership, and 3) Practicum or Research Thesis. In addition to these courses, students take six courses in their fields. Three of the six courses may lead to a graduate certificate.
Students may choose to earn a graduate certificate (3 courses) or a master’s degree (9 courses) at the time of graduation. Certificates and degrees cannot be issued concurrently to a student, but the administrative fee for both are the same, and students must choose either the certificate or degree. Students who earn a certificate may apply the three courses they took for the certificate towards a master’s degree in the future.
Question: How much does it cost to attend Osiri University?
Answer: Osiri University’s mission is to democratize quality education. Osiri University brings together and trains world’s best professors to make quality education universally accessible. Therefore, Osiri University is offering exceptional value by making quality education affordable. Osiri University does not charge tuition or exam fees. Students only pay a one-time administrative fee each year with no additional or hidden fees. Administrative fees are assessed every 12 months. Therefore, students who enroll in a one-year master’s degree would only pay the administrative fee once, and must complete the master’s program within 12 months of their program start date to avoid paying another administrative fee.
Question: Does Osiri University charge application fees in addition to the administrative fees? Are the administrative fees non-refundable and does it vary by country?
Answer: Osiri University is no longer charging application fees. Students will only pay administrative fees annually. Yes, administrative fees are non-refundable and they vary by country. They are not necessarily a direct conversion from dollars. All applicants can pay their administrative fee at the main application portal (www.osiriuniversity.org/apply) in US dollars. However, those wishing to pay in their local currency must do so using the bank account provided for the region: Ethiopia: 20,000 ETB; Ghana, 2,000 Cedes; India: 20,000 Rupees, Nigeria: 220,000 Naira; South Africa: 3,200 Rands. Osiri University have agents and university representatives in various countries, including Ghana, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, and South Africa.
Question: Who can attend Osiri University and what the payment options and methods?
Answer: Currently, Osiri University is open to US residents in Nebraska and all international students outside the United States. The non-refundable administrative fee of $200 can be paid at the main application portal: www.osiriuniversity.org/apply. International students who do not have a credit or debit card must first make payment in the local currency and send proof of payment to [email protected] before uploading their documents for review.
Question: What is the admission process?
Answer: First, apply at www.osiriuniversity.org/apply or pay the administrative fee in a local currency and send proof of payment to [email protected]. Unofficial transcripts and documents are required initially. Second, application is reviewed and admission letter is issued. Thirdly, Osiri University will request official transcripts after classes commence. Students will have three months to send official transcripts to Osiri University.
Question: What are the admission requirements?
Answer: Applicants seeking any of the two master’s degrees currently offered must have a bachelor’s or an equivalent plus a command of English. Osiri University does not provide any admission and encourages students to make sure they can read and write English fluently before applying. An undergraduate study in a computer related field is preferred for applicants seeking admission into the MSc in Data and Information Systems. Those who do not have the preferred background will be required to take an intensive two-week Python programming course offered by Osiri University at no additional cost.

Additionally, a group of industry leaders through its Advisory Board ensures that the curriculum is effective and industry relevant advises Osiri University.
Question: How does Osiri University teach Ubuntu?
Answer: Ubuntu (“I am because we are”) is an African philosophy that promotes our common humanity, peace, and love for all people. Ubuntu recognizes the dignity in each person and calls on every person to live with the knowledge that our destinies are inextricably linked with each other. Instructors and staff members are living examples of Ubuntu. They are committed to uplifting themselves, their families and others within their communities, thereby modelling Ubuntu to students. Every student at Osiri take a required course on Human Potential, Philosophy, and Ethics, which teaches Ubuntu and similar world philosophies and practices, such as stoicism and meditation. Deep and meaningful collaborations are also encourage amongst students, faculty and staff through work and assignments.
Question: What does the schedule and course process look like?
Answer: The academic calendar is designed to give students flexibility and learn at the own pace. Thus, the academic schedule is for the applicant who want to dedicate to their studies full time and to the full- time worker or parent who needs great flexibility to learn at their own pace. Courses are one hundred percent online. Some are fully synchronous with the instructors meeting students on Zoom three times per week. Other courses use a mixed approach with students learning on the Learning Management System (LMS) asynchronously with some lectures delivered synchronously on Zoom once a week.
Question: Is there an extra charge for exams or degree certificates?
Answer: No, there are no additional fees beyond the non-refundable administrative fee. All degree certificates will be send electronically to each student at no cost. If students desire a hard copy produced and mailed to them, they will bear the full cost of the printing and mailing. Additionally, the first transcripts will be sent to the student electronically at no cost. Subsequent, transcript request (printed or electronic) will attract a small processing fee in addition to a shipping fee if applicable.
Question: What is the probability of passing all the courses since the administrative fee is non- refundable?
Answer: We cannot guarantee that a student who enroll at Osiri University will successfully pass all their courses. Students have approximately one year to complete their master’s degree program with a cohort. Students have only one chance to pass a course. Otherwise, they have to pay another administrative fee to return the following year to take the course. Our instructors are skilled and very student-focused. They will do their best to teach students. However, it is the responsibility of the student to understand the material and pass the course. Students should dedicate time and effort to study and pass each course.
Question: What is the evaluation process? Are there exams and projects?
Answer: Evaluation of course learning objective varies from instructor to instructor. A course in leadership may have fewer projects and more writing and reflections compared to a course on data science and analytics, which may require more hands-on projects. Overall, participation will account for 40% of the grade; tests, quizzes, exams throughout the course will account for 40%, and final exams will account for 40% of the grade.
