Course Description:
This course will provide an introduction to qualitative and quantitative research methodologies in education. Students will be introduced to contemporary perspectives in educational research with a particular focus on developing a range of skills involved in formulating a research proposal; including framing research questions, writing hypotheses, developing a literature review and choosing appropriate methodologies for different types of study. Students will examine and be exposed to the main components of a research framework i.e., problem definition, research design, data collection, ethical issues in research, report writing, and presentation.

By the end of this Unit, students will:
- Develop an understanding of the basic framework of the research process.
- Develop an understanding of various research designs and techniques.
- Identify various sources of information from the literature review and data collection.
- Develop an understanding of the ethical dimensions of conducting applied
