Course Description:
The overall objective of this course is to clear the misconception of marketing and equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to the point of confidently preparing a marketing plan. Marketing is concerned with maximizing consumer satisfaction, so this interactive course touches on creating products and services that serve consumers, communicating a clear value proposition, delivering products and services in a way that optimizes value, and exchanging (or trading) value for those offerings.
Learning Outcomes:
- To understand the principles of marketing within the tourism context.
- To understand that the focus of marketing has always been on the consumer.
- Understand the marketing process and examine various marketing decisions that an organization must make in order to sell its products and services.
- Optional: As a way of practicing the ‘Marketing gospel’ preached throughout the modules, Osiri University may take a step-further to enable at least one student to establish a tangible business at the end of this course. This is a way of demonstrating some of the core values of Marketing- Customer Satisfaction, Customer feedback and After-Sale services. Specifically,
- At the end of the entire course, the team with the best marketing plan will be engaged further to actualize the business idea. The idea will be patented under Osiri University.
