Course Description:
The course provides students with an understanding of the theories and concepts used in the analysis of hydraulic and pneumatic fluid power systems and the skills needed to design those systems at a competitive level of efficiency, safety and environmental footprint.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this Course students will be able to:
- Describe the terms fluid power, hydraulic system, and pneumatic system.
- Explain and identify the functions and the basic structure of fluid power systems.
- Explain the symbols used to designate components in fluid power circuit diagrams.
- Describe the principles of pressure, and principles of flow.
- Identify the primary purposes of hydraulic fluid and its purpose in some applications.
